I did it at the BlogCon, and I did it again at the Blog Parteeh - I hid behind a camera. The difference is this time, I posted pictures - lots of them.
You might be thinking: I mentioned this already before - why am I repeating myself? Well, I guess I still want to say a few more things about blogparteeh07. No, my 44,000 words worth of images were not enough - I’ve got a few hundred other words to write.
First off, I want to congratulate the Steering Committee for planning and staging the event. I didn’t win the much coveted iPod, or the JBL Creature speakers, or the CushTop, but I did get pictures of said items. I guess I’ll have to console myself with the fact that my hiding behind a camera still got me some decent souvenirs. By the way, this pic goes out to Emo Ade. I hope you can stop crying now.
Next, this is for you, Tina. Did you say you wanted a picture of you with your bottle of wine from Marks & Spencer? Well, here it is. Now everybody knows the real cause of your hangover. It was nice meeting you, even if we didn’t get to talk much. It’s cool though - it’s fun to take pictures of people who smile a lot.
Chris says the blog parteeh sucked, but nobody believes him. Then again, with a mug like this, I don’t think anybody would argue with him either. The thing is, Chris despite this pic, Chris isn’t such a dark figure. He isn’t smiling here because… well… I’m not sure why, but he was pretty happy when he won the iPod.
Wait - he didn’t win that. He won the iPod case. Yeah, I guess the party sucked. I’m sure our future shoots will rock though. He may be the lone Pentax user among the Band of Bloggers, but he’s proof that good photos are the products of a keen eye - not the brand of camera you use.
In the tradition of… well… teasing others, I’m putting the spotlight on Rico and Sasha. They are both probloggers maintaining several blogs. They have both been featured by Ajay (who was also at the Blog Parteeh) on Manila Bulletin’s Blog-O-Rama. They are both part of the b5media blog network. They are both twenty-somethings. They both have surnames starting with the letter M. They… okay, I’m obviously scraping for similarities now. Next!
Abe and Noemi were another pair at the event. No, I’m not implying there’s something going on between them - I just happen to have a picture of the two of them. They don’t quite have the same chemistry as another pair of bloggers mentioned here, but they definitely have their fair share of similarities. For one thing, both are part of the Steering Committee. For another, both own web hosting companies. One thing most bloggers will know though, is that both are pretty well known Pinoy probloggers.
The last pair I’m featuring here are both good friends of mine. As is the case with the previous pair, they are not romantically linked. Both are Mac users, but they have vastly different blogging experiences. The lady on the left, while not new to blogging, stays anonymous on the web. The guy on the right, on the other hand, is quite well known. Jayvee loves to sensationalize - in fact, he says that “there was just too much booze, sex and several acts of frivolities going round” at the parteeh. It’s too bad I didn’t capture any of it on my camera.
Lastly, I’m borrowing a picture from Juned, who actually took out his camera while inside the killer lift. I know I didn’t shoot this, but I’m still dedicating it to Bouncing Red Ball. Here’s proof that we were in the elevator. Now I’m just working out how to prove that the doors refused to open. I’ll try and see if I can find any scratch marks on the door.

Sorsi, this one’s for you. You can’t hide from the cameras. You can’t hide your braces - and for as long as you have braces, every blogger with a camera will try to take your picture. Okay, maybe not every blogger, but every blogger that reads this (yes, you) should try to take a picture of Sorsi while she has her braces on. This way, she will never forget what she looks like with bits of metal in her mouth. Am I being mean? Fine, I guess I am. Don’t worry though - I won’t tease you as much as I’ll tease another pair of bloggers at the event. You do know which fool and parodist I’m talking about, right?
[end update]
There, an epilogue to my 44,000 word essay and the Blog Parteeh ‘07. Yes, I can be wordy when I choose to be. Did you have the patience to go through this whole post? Congratulations - you’ve just wasted five minutes of your life.

Ssssh! No one’s supposed to figure that out!
Haha to be honest, you’re the only one who made that connection. Even I didn’t think about my asking for the wine picture and the title of my post.
Thanks for the pic.
I’m looking around your gallery to get the ones with my face (or at least me, even if I’m not looking) on it to add to my collection. Vain much?
Scratch that, I’ll look around later. I just remembered I’m at work. Hee hee.
See ya soon, Elber.

Jayvee: I can post another picture instead, if you’d like. That picture looks… umm… a bit sweeter.
Rico: Aren’t I what?
Tina: I’ll check my archives for pictures of you that I didn’t post. I can email those to you.

Chris: I think Jayvee and Markku are also planning to go to that airshow event that you mentioned. I’m not sure I can go though.
Rico: Cool, and yeah - isn’t he romantically linked with somebody already? As for the Blog Parteeh Scandal picture, I didn’t take that picture. I think Jayvee did.
Jayvee: Yeah, aren’t you already romantically linked with somebody?
Miguel: ROFL! I’ll tell them.
Sorsi: Yup! Proud of it, too! As for your pic, I think Jayvee took it. I don’t see it on his gallery though. Hmm…
