The 2007 Philippine Blog Awards are officially on! You want in on the action? You can nominate blogs, you can volunteer, or you can do both!

Yup, nominations are now open! They have, in fact, been open since the 14th, and will remain open until the 28th of February - that’s next Wednesday. Requirements? Read this:

You may submit as many blogs as you want—if you think they deserve to be called one of the Philippines’ finest blogs. You can also nominate somebody else’s blog. Oh, and yeah… Before anybody asks… There’s absolutely no entry fee to join the Awards!

You can nominate blogs for any of the main categories. On top of this, you can also nominate them for any of the special awards. Of course, you probably want to to check the list of nominees first.

If you want, you can also be one of the volunteers. If you’re free this Friday, the Awards Night organizing committee will have its first meeting then. Here are the details:

WHAT: Awards Night organizing committee meeting / Friday night out!
WHERE: Starbucks Coffee in Metro Walk, Ortigas
WHEN: Friday, 23 February 2007, 6PM onwards

If you’re worried that volunteering will disqualify you from the awards, this should quell your fears. According to the FAQs:

I volunteered to help out. Can I still join?
Yes, you can! The volunteers will be handling the Awards Night (the program, venue reservation, logistics, etc.), and not the entries. To protect the integrity of the competition, entries will only be handled by the organizers who are automatically disqualified from any nomination. Besides, volunteering to help out at the Awards Night isn’t a criterion for judging—see criteria of judging here!
