Last week I asked why we bother with camera filters. With enough skill in Photoshop or some other image editing software, you can do anything a filter does, right?

Father Abraham may have started it, but it looks like the job of tracking the Top 100 Philippine Blogs is no longer his. He’s passing that torch to Andrew de la Serna.
You see, Andrew has taken Father Abraham’s top 100 list and given it a mind of its own. No longer manually updated, his new list is “electro-charged by über-geeky Technorati data sprinkled with Feedburner stats.” On top of that, his new list boasts of its own site.

Yes, Ratified.org, is the new place to see just where you stand in the Philippine Blogosphere.
Now, while I’m happy things are now automated, I’m also sad. I’m sad because I’m not in the top 100. I’m sad because according to Ratified.org, my Technorati rank has dropped 124 spots since yesterday. I’m sad because I’m not sure if Ratified.org is tracking my FeedBurner stats.
It’s ok though. I’m currently hovering just outside the top 100. I hope I can break in sometime soon.

Somebody with way too much time on his hands has come up with what is probably the hottest (literally) Moleskine around. This probably isn’t as durable as your typical Moleskine, but it can definitely hold a lot more information.
He basically wrapped a 2.5″ SATA drive encolosure in a Moleskine cover - at least that’s what it looks like. There’s something I’d like to change though - I’d like to have a place to hide the cable. Of course, that could be part of the design, but I can’t quite find that out now. You see, the link from Boing Boing refuses to load.

Jayvee has his filters, but so what? If you know how to use Photoshop or other image editing programs out there, you can replicate the effects of his filters.
Case in point, the image on the right. It looks similar to Jayvee’s pictures, right? We’ve got the color and the vignetting down, and we have full control. Why bother with filters then?

Yes, you can probably do that on your computer - but do you think you can do that on your phone?
Thirteen year-old Morgan Pozgar of Claysburg, Pennsylvania can.
Last Saturday, she bested over 200 other competitors and won $25,000 at the LG National Texting championship by spelling supercalifragilisticexpialidocious on that phone you see her holding now.
I wonder how she would fare compared to our country’s top texters. Yes, the QWERTY thumbboard helps, but her speed isn’t the most impressive part. She says she sends more than 8,000 text messages a month. That is definitely more than the average here in the supposed “texting capital of the world.”
What she should do now is use the $25,000 to cover her phone bills.

update 2007.04.27: Bye, MyBlogLog. You don’t play nice with Lightbox.
Yes, I’ve given in. You can now see your face on my sidebar - that is, if you’re logged in to MyBlogLog.
I actually tried to install this widget several weeks ago, but it didn’t look right. My stylesheets made all the pictures repel each other - they looked like little squares scattered all over the page. Heck, even the little x’s wouldn’t go near their respective pictures. I immediately took the widget off when that happened.
Now, after several weeks and some a lot of tweaking, things look ok.
Hello, MyBlogLog. So long, anonymity.

For some reason, I can’t think of anything to write. I wrote something earlier about pushing ringtones, but I decided to post in on Mobile Philippines instead. I’m not sure if it’s up already there It’s up there already, but that’s not what’s important. What matters is that I have nothing to write on my personal blog.
What also matters is the reason for this mental block. I think I can blame this on Sango. I was there this afternoon and now, three hours later, I still feel stuffed. My brain has been starved of oxygen because all my blood is rushing to my gut.
Oh well. There are much better things to do than blog on a Sunday.
