Why bother with filters?

Jayvee has his filters, but so what? If you know how to use Photoshop or other image editing programs out there, you can replicate the effects of his filters.
Case in point, the image on the right. It looks similar to Jayvee’s pictures, right? We’ve got the color and the vignetting down, and we have full control. Why bother with filters then?

Right now, the only filter I think I really need is a polarizer. Most of the other benefits can be achieved through photoshop more or less.

markku: Polarizers are so fun to use - and as far as I know, there’s no way to replicate their effects in Photoshop. I’ve got another cool (but weird) filter for you…
