It’s not the camera, it’s you

This is it, the first real installment of the drivebyshooter.net photography.101 series. That’s why I want to make this clear: your camera is a tool for taking photographs. That’s all it is - a piece of equipment. Your camera doesn’t take pictures - you do.
You are the one who sees the opportunity for a great shot. You are the one who frames and composes your image. You are the one who decides when to take the shot.
Your camera is just the tool that lets you record an image.
Now I’m not saying that your camera doesn’t matter - it does. What matters more though is that you know how to use it. That’s what I hope to help you with in this photography.101 series.

Yea, I find it quite silly when people praise my camera for my photos. Initial thought was “Ouch!” but, then again, does it really matter? At least, I get to hear flattering comments from friends who do know what the camera’s role is in photography.
Hope this project goes well!

Sasha: Yup, it is quite silly. Those who know better still recognize your good shots though, so that’s ok, right?
