it needs modifacation, the tail lights look bad,the front bumper looks out proportion,

  2. coooldude Says:

yup, certainly needs modification, point 1- tires are to small for the massive body, point 2- tail lights are way to small, point 3- the body is too plain, might as well add some curves to make it sporty and lower the height of the body. Over all its not that bad but if you could make some adjustments and make it a litle bit sportier, you might have a market for that. GO PINOY!!!!

need some modification in the grill and the hood. However it kinda look like a Europeane small vans made by reanult and fiat. It haseven some similarities with those Japan Only Vehicles made by Mitsubishi and even the Scion Brand of Toyota

  4. Vanguard Says:

I agree with the thought it should have larger tires but I do not agree about lowering the height. A higher clearance would help it traverse our Philippine rural roads and the all too familiar oversized speed bumps of some subdivisions. It’s an AUV not a sports wagon. Curvier body and maybe a larger windshield would help driver’s view of the road. Hopefully the suspension is good so if ever you’re riding in one it doesnt feel like your in an enclosed jeepney. This is the prototype so it’s initial viewing looks promising. GO PINOY!!!

[…] Is this an actual picture of the MVPMAP’s PhUV?  [edit: Yes, it is!] […]

Interesting vehicle. I would have to agree with Vanguard on not lowering the ground clearance. This would be beneficial not only for rural roads but even in the urban areas where potholes are everywhere. A higher ground clearance would likewise be helpful in times of flooding.

I saw this featured in the news but I wasn’t really paying much attention as to what the specs are so I’m a bit curious on what are the specs of this PhUV.

  7. Freddy Says:

certainly needs modification, windshield should be larger and the roof looks boxi, but in fairness, mabuhay ang pilipino, congrats!!! parang Hummer ang likod.

  8. DBS Says:

rmb: Yes, it needs modification, but this is a prototype after all. It will change before hitting the production line. I’ve got some comments in a previous post that address this.

cooldude: (1) check; (2) maybe, maybe not; and (3) the body needs curves, but doesn’t need to be lowered. It’s a utility vehicle.

idriz: It needs a lot of modification, but that’s what I expect to happen anyway before the final product comes out.

    Vanguard: Good points.

Shutter Box: I’m trying to get the specs posted soon.

Freddy: You’re right - it does remind me of the Hummer a bit.

I think the point that we’re all missing here is that this is a utility vehicle. It’s not a Ferrari. That being said, I think it looks good. Bold.

I think the Philippine AUV looks great! It’s just the angle of the camera that made it look disproportionate. Besides, this is a prototype and eventually it will evolve in response to customer comments. There may be constraints in design because of cost involved in making it. We had developed standards in our minds because of foreign vehicles. It would be interesting to see how it performs.

  11. rmb Says:

i viewed it on you tube,it looks good although it needs modification.

I just want to check my error. That should be Philippine UV, not Philippine AUV. On second thought and further study, I think the tires should be bigger. Also, I would like to see a stunted version for personal and small family use. I remember the smaller version of Mitsubishi’s Pajero. I own a quite outmoded but well-conditioned owner-type jeep but looks forward to a switch if a smaller version of the PhUV is available. Of course, that should expectedly be cheaper.

  13. RPGUEVARRA Says:

its a good looking vehicle… i heard that it will retail for php350,000.00, reasonable price for a utility vehicle!

  14. benj Says:

It looks like a hybrid! :p

Its great step towards the Filipino Car. I think small details could help.
Curve the Windshield, as well as the Hood. The Grill looks to cheap and plastic. The Chrome Rims looks small and cheap. Why not just make it powder coated black or bronze, ask Rota to help. Back looks good.
I promise I’ll buy one, just to support you guys. I have been waiting for a Filipino car for so long its finally coming true.

  16. charles candelario Says:

yeah I think its good but I dont think the price is right.. This is just a simple jeepney mix with hammer…. they should come up with more beautiful design…

  17. Jason De Castro Says:

The body is too long, thought it looks quite good, agree to charles it looks like a jeepney but the front looks like a hammer, should be shorter like the SUV’s, this would look better, what about the engine?

  18. Cobranza Says:

this kind of Vehicle will be a start of dying car producer in our Country, it gives us the inpiration to go and continue what pinoy belives! don’t care about other will say about this Prototype, before what? the Japanese make car that looks like a Box type etc. there is no style before and yet we still bought them right! so what if the engine is not our, may next year or 2 years will have one, and they will make a better design so bro. let support PHUV on this initiative MABUHAY!!!
