I love hearing about events like Rock Ed Radio’s Keep Your Promises series of concerts. What is it? Let me lift directly from Rock Ed Philippines:
A series of gigs entitled KEEP YOUR PROMISES will be launched on Saturday May 19. These are small gatherings of young voters (disenfranchised voters included) to have their voices heard. That we demand the fulfillment of promises made by candidates during the elections.
Now that we’ve done our part and voted our preferred candidates into office, it’s time for the step up and deliver on their campaign promises.
I love the whole idea and the idealism behind the event. You see, it’s too easy to lose hope in this country, but seeing people care enough to organize events like this gives me hope. Reading what other bloggers have to say gives me hope. Knowing how you care about this country gives me hope.
The thing is, like I mentioned before, I’m still a cynic. Yes, I kept blogging about the elections, but I always felt like it was too little. Yes, blogging gave me a reach beyond my immediate circle of friends, but it still wasn’t enough.

Three months after I started drivebyshooter.net, I posted an entry on ways to check blog growth. That was sparked by Abe’s post on 5 Ways to Check Blog Growth.
That happened almost three months ago - and now that I’ve (almost) hit the half-year mark, I’m putting another notch on the kitchen door.

Father Abraham may have started it, but it looks like the job of tracking the Top 100 Philippine Blogs is no longer his. He’s passing that torch to Andrew de la Serna.
You see, Andrew has taken Father Abraham’s top 100 list and given it a mind of its own. No longer manually updated, his new list is “electro-charged by über-geeky Technorati data sprinkled with Feedburner stats.” On top of that, his new list boasts of its own site.

Yes, Ratified.org, is the new place to see just where you stand in the Philippine Blogosphere.
Now, while I’m happy things are now automated, I’m also sad. I’m sad because I’m not in the top 100. I’m sad because according to Ratified.org, my Technorati rank has dropped 124 spots since yesterday. I’m sad because I’m not sure if Ratified.org is tracking my FeedBurner stats.
It’s ok though. I’m currently hovering just outside the top 100. I hope I can break in sometime soon.

I take it back - I guess Technorati doesn’t really suck after all.
According to Ian Kallen of Technorati, my posts are now being indexed. My five most recent posts (including the one before this and my rant on Technorati) have been indexed.
I guess this means I have to backtrack a little - Technorati doesn’t really suck. Yeah, I’ll say it one more time… but wait…

update 04.13.2007 0858h: Less than 24 hours after my rant, my posts are now being indexed again. I’m not entirely happy though - at least not yet. Read more about it here.
I just noticed earlier that according to Technorati, my latest post is 26 days old. Contrast that with another statistic they keep track of - they say my blog was last updated 15 minutes before I checked it.
Strange, isn’t it?
Irritating is more like it.
Not counting this one, I’ve posted 23 entries in the since that last post indexed by Technorati. I don’t know how many links those posts included, but I’m guessing Technorati isn’t indexing my outbound links either.
Pinging Technorati doesn’t help either. No new posts show u and everything pretty much stays the same.
I’m not the only one with this problem either. On the Technorati Forums, several posts tagged “indexing” have remained unanswered. One post in particular, mentions a site that hasn’t been indexed in 71 days.
I noticed threads tagged “ping” and “problems” discussing similar problems, but I didn’t bother going through them anymore. None of the posts had replies from Technorati staff - how could I expect anything better from the other threads?
This sucks - and to think I was just raving about Technorati over at Abe’s.
