Becoming a superhero won’t come cheap, but pretending to be one isn’t that expensive. The first step is getting your own action hero.
Enter the Geek Man action figure.
He may be only 6″ tall, but he has the power to master even the toughest of analytical problems. (Just don’t ask him anything that would require “fashion sense”). His “weapons of wisdom” include:
If you ask me, this figure should be marketed as Nerd Man or Dork Man - there’s a difference between geeks and nerds.
Geeks don’t have fashion sense?!? Yeah, right! Tell that to these geeks. What is it with non-geeks? Do they think all geeks look like Bill Gates?

Three months after I started drivebyshooter.net, I posted an entry on ways to check blog growth. That was sparked by Abe’s post on 5 Ways to Check Blog Growth.
That happened almost three months ago - and now that I’ve (almost) hit the half-year mark, I’m putting another notch on the kitchen door.

Father Abraham may have started it, but it looks like the job of tracking the Top 100 Philippine Blogs is no longer his. He’s passing that torch to Andrew de la Serna.
You see, Andrew has taken Father Abraham’s top 100 list and given it a mind of its own. No longer manually updated, his new list is “electro-charged by über-geeky Technorati data sprinkled with Feedburner stats.” On top of that, his new list boasts of its own site.

Yes, Ratified.org, is the new place to see just where you stand in the Philippine Blogosphere.
Now, while I’m happy things are now automated, I’m also sad. I’m sad because I’m not in the top 100. I’m sad because according to Ratified.org, my Technorati rank has dropped 124 spots since yesterday. I’m sad because I’m not sure if Ratified.org is tracking my FeedBurner stats.
It’s ok though. I’m currently hovering just outside the top 100. I hope I can break in sometime soon.

It’s another installation of Link Love, the first for this month. The theme for this edition, beginnings.
- UAPak!!! takes over where The UA&P Campus Paparazzi and The UA&P Insider left off. Yup, the two blogs mentioned - you might remember them from older editions of Link Love - have joined forces to give you news about UA&P. By the way, UAPak!!! is just a week old.
- InXane Reality writes about the insanities of daily life. One such insanity - moving to a new office.
- The Kultura Blog welcomes you. Yes, that’s another blog that has just started. Unlike UAPak!!! though, this blog doesn’t have a whole lot of content built-in. It should grow soon though.
- A bit dated, but Shai Coggins
is going has gone offline to have a baby. Yeah, I know, it’s old news, but it fits the theme, right? You can see pictures here, by the way. Finally, something about a new life, not a new blog.
- Going back to blogging, Jayvee has started BugCasting. I’ve got to ask him now, is that the proper verb form of BuggedCast?
- Pinoy.Tech.Blog wishes the Philippine Internet Connection a belated Happy Birthday. Yup, the Philippines made its first net connection over a decade ago on March 29, 1993. I admit, that’s even more dated than one of the earlier items.
- Yes, I’m plugging myself again, but this is important. Since last week, I’ve been using my real name when blogging. You can still call me (and link to me as) Elber if you want, but I’m using Luis for practically all of my correspondence.

I don’t know why I didn’t mention this before - I’m a guest blogger at Pinoy Tech Blog. There was a call for guest bloggers sometime last week. Obviously, I signed up.

I’ve got two posts up so far:
I committed a major blunder in one of them - nothing grave - just carelessness on my part. That just means I have to be more careful in the future. Unlike here, I can’t edit my posts once they’re up. Maybe someday, I’ll be able to do that. That, of course, assumes I’ll be a regular contributor. Anybody at the PTB reading?

Yes, I know it has only been two days since my last (and first) link love post, but can you stop me? No? Ok. Now we know who’s boss ’round here, I’m serving up another bunch of links. All the authors involved are tied together somehow. How? If you know them, you’ll know. If not, well, just read on. I’m sure you’ll find some clues somewhere. In any case, you might not find out the answer to the previous question, but you might have a few more blogs to add to your daily reads.
Valerie threatens to kill herself if she’s asked to make another revision to a poster she’s been working on. If you ask me, she did a wonderful job. I’m sure she’s also exaggerating.
- Jayvee pits Pinoy Tech Blog against PWiT: Philippine Week in Tech in a head-to-head battle. Well, not really - but I can’t explain. Just go read his post.
- Script ADDicts continues to shoot “an ongoing story that starts and ends and twists and turns the way you want it to.”
- More from Valerie, some stunning, amazing, spectacular, wonderful, beautiful, and basically great images of some flowers. I couldn’t leave a comment, but maybe you can.
- Anne welcomes back bermuda shorts over at Stylish.ca
- John-D has, for once, very few words on a topic. Instead, he defers to the Onion Dispatch on David Beckham’s move the MLS.
- Dez apologizes to her blog for spending way to much time with Flickr and Multiply.
